A major clarification from Disneyland after rumors circulated about a tree falling on a guest during a stormy Tuesday night.
Disneyland Resort confirmed to NBC Los Angeles that a tree located on the patio of the Plaza Inn, a restaurant inside the park, did fall around 11:40 p.m. on Tuesday. The resort noted that rainfall kept diners from sitting on the patio at the time.
Two visitors sustained minor grazing injuries at the scene, but the statement did not detail how those injuries occurred. Disneyland Fire Department crews secured the area and workers spent the night removing the fallen tree.
The incident occurred amid a strong Southern California storm that brought mountain snow, flooded streets, and measurable rain across the region. Another storm is forecast to impact the Southland later this week.
