Crypto Market Slumps as AI Tokens Drive Sell-Off; Ethereum Drops Below $3,900
The cryptocurrency market experienced a broad decline over the past 24 hours, with AI-related tokens leading the downturn. According to data from SoSoValue, the AI sector dropped 8.6%, with significant losses in Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL), Fartcoin (FARTCOIN), and ChainOpera AI (COAI), which plunged nearly 42%. Ethereum (ETH) fell 2.15% to below $3,900, while Bitcoin (BTC) briefly dipped under $107,000 before rebounding. Other sectors, including Layer-1s, DeFi, Meme, and Layer-2 tokens, also traded lower, but a few assets, such as WhiteBIT Token (WBT), eCash (XEC), MemeCore (M), and AERO, managed small gains.
