So, what's the Young Professionals Program? This program is a cornerstone of the AfDB's strategy to develop future leaders. It's designed to attract and nurture young professionals from its member countries who excel academically, demonstrate professional excellence, and are deeply committed to Africa's socio-economic transformation. The YPP aims to:
- Build a pipeline for future leadership.
- Develop a new generation of development specialists.

How does the program work? The YPP offers a structured learning experience with four main components:
- Rotational Assignments: You'll rotate through different departments, including potential placements in regional or country offices. These rotations help broaden your expertise and leadership skills.
- Capacity Development: You'll participate in professional and personal development programs, including postgraduate courses and international certifications.
- Mentorship and Coaching: You'll be paired with mentors and coaches to help you integrate into the Bank's culture and work environment.
- Graduation and Integration: Upon successful completion, you'll be integrated into the Bank's workforce at the PL5 level.

Do you have what it takes? To be eligible, you must:
- Be a national of an AfDB member country.
- Be 32 years old or younger by November 30, 2025.
- Hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Have at least three years of post-graduate professional experience.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills, teamwork, and leadership potential.
- Be proficient in English or French, with a working knowledge of the other language preferred.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Be willing to work in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, or other AfDB duty stations.
